Sennheiser has announced the ACCENTUM Clip, an open-ear true wireless earbud that sits in the clip-style category rather than the in-canal design used by most true wireless models. Announced from Hanover, Germany, the earbuds pair a 12 mm dynamic driver with Bluetooth 6.0, LDAC support and an IP54 rating, and are quoted at up to 36 hours of total playtime with the charging case. The set is positioned within Sennheiser’s ACCENTUM line, which sits below the flagship MOMENTUM range.
According to Friederike Menking, the product manager for the ACCENTUM Clip, the aim was to raise the level of acoustic performance that open earbuds have generally found difficult to reach. Open-ear designs leave the ear canal unobstructed, so the wearer can hear surrounding sound at the same time as their music. Sennheiser states that the ACCENTUM Clip achieves ambient awareness through its physical design rather than through electronic pass-through, which means there is no microphone-fed transparency mode of the kind used by closed earbuds with active noise cancellation.
Design and fit

The ACCENTUM Clip uses an intra-concha wearing style, which means the driver housing rests in the bowl of the outer ear rather than being inserted into the ear canal. A flexible silicone bridge connects the two halves of each earbud and holds the unit in position. Sennheiser describes the fit as secure across a wide range of ear shapes, and lists a single earbud weight of 6.8 g, with the two earbuds and the charging case together weighing 57 g. The case on its own is quoted at 43 g.
Each earbud carries textured touch controls for volume, calls and playback. The earbuds hold an IP54 rating, which covers protection against dust ingress and splashes of water from any direction. Sennheiser notes that the IP54 rating applies to the earbuds only and not to the charging case. The company also states that the speaker geometry and internal damping are designed to limit sound leakage, so that audio stays largely contained to the wearer, a common concern with open-ear products.
Sound and audio specification

At the centre of each earbud is a 12 mm dynamic driver. The ACCENTUM Clip carries Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, and the published speaker frequency range runs from 20 Hz to 40 kHz. Sennheiser lists speaker sensitivity at 128 dB SPL measured at 1 kHz and 1 mW, with total harmonic distortion below 0.5 per cent at 1 kHz and 100 dB SPL. There is no active noise cancellation, which is consistent with the open-ear design.
A Dynamic EQ feature adjusts the tuning as the volume changes. At lower volumes the system compensates for the way the ear perceives bass and treble, and as the volume rises the equalisation curve steps back to keep the balance steady and to limit distortion. Sennheiser links the tuning approach to its longer history with open headphones.
Connectivity and codecs
The ACCENTUM Clip runs on Bluetooth 6.0 and supports the SBC and AAC codecs as standard, with LDAC available on compatible devices for higher bitrate streaming. The supported Bluetooth profiles are A2DP, AVRCP and HFP, and the radio operates across the 2,402 MHz to 2,483.5 MHz band. Multipoint connectivity allows two source devices to stay connected at the same time, and each earbud can be used on its own. Google Fast Pair is included for quicker pairing on Android devices, and the packaging also carries Auracast branding alongside the Bluetooth, LDAC and Hi-Res Audio Wireless marks.
It is worth being clear on what LDAC does in practice. It is a codec developed by Sony that can carry higher bitrates than SBC or AAC, which is the basis for the high-resolution claim, but it depends on the source device supporting the codec. Apple devices, for example, do not support LDAC and will fall back to AAC.
Microphones and calls
Each earbud houses a dual-microphone system, giving two microphones per side. The microphones use MEMS elements with a quoted frequency range of 100 Hz to 10 kHz, and Sennheiser pairs them with an AI noise reduction algorithm that is intended to separate the wearer’s voice from background sound during calls. As with most call quality claims, the real test will come from independent measurement rather than the specification alone.
Battery and charging
Sennheiser quotes up to 9 hours of playtime from a single charge of the earbuds, with the charging case adding three further top-ups for a total of up to 36 hours. The battery figures are measured using an iPhone over AAC at mid volume, so LDAC use is likely to reduce those numbers. A 10-minute charge over the supplied USB Type-C cable is quoted at 2 hours of playback, and both the earbuds and the case take around one hour to charge fully at room temperature.
On the cells themselves, the charging case is listed at 545 mAh and each earbud at between 49 and 55 mAh, with the variation down to dual sourcing of the battery components. The case charges over USB-C at 5 V, and the earbuds and case carry built-in lithium-ion batteries. Operating temperature is given as 0 to 40 degrees C, with charging supported between 5 and 35 degrees C.
App and software
The ACCENTUM Clip works with the Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app, which provides a 5-band equaliser, shareable EQ presets and a guided Sound Check feature for setting up the sound. The app handles connectivity settings and further personalisation. Software features such as these are typically expanded over time through firmware updates, though Sennheiser has not detailed any update commitments for this model.
Colours, packaging and spare parts
There is a small inconsistency in the launch material that is worth noting. The announcement describes two colourways, Black and Cream, while the technical data sheet lists three, adding an Ice Blue option. The spare parts listing also covers all three colours, which suggests Ice Blue is part of the range even though it is absent from the announcement text. Buyers should treat the colour count as up to three, pending confirmation from Sennheiser’s retail listings.
Sennheiser states that the ACCENTUM Clip ships in zero-plastic packaging, with the single package made up of 43 g of paper and cardboard and no plastic. The earbuds are designed in Germany and made in China. The replaceable parts policy is a useful detail for longevity: the earbud set and the charging case are both available as separate spare parts in each colour, which means a lost or worn component does not necessarily require a full replacement.
Availability and price
The ACCENTUM Clip goes on sale in the UK from 23 July 2026 through uk.sennheiser-hearing.com and selected retailers. The suggested retail price is £149. For reference, Sennheiser also quotes 179 euros and $289.95 in Australian dollars for other regions. In the box, buyers get the earbuds, the charging case, a USB-C charging cable and documentation.
