JSW Motors, the new energy passenger vehicle arm of India’s JSW Group, has entered a long-term strategic partnership with French software company Dassault Systèmes to strengthen its vehicle design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
The collaboration is intended to support JSW Motors’ upcoming new energy vehicle (NEV) portfolio by expanding its use of digital technologies across development and production.
As part of the agreement, JSW Motors will adopt Dassault Systèmes’ DELMIA: 3DExperience platform as the core digital backbone for its operations, supporting the vehicle lifecycle from design through manufacturing.
The company will also use a Global Modular Architecture enabled by 3DExperience tools including CATIA and ENOVIA, aimed at developing multiple vehicle formats across NEV platforms.
On the production side, JSW Motors will implement Dassault Systèmes’ DELMIA-based Manufacturing Operations Management solution to improve production efficiency and reduce its carbon footprint.
The partnership includes an integrated Product Lifecycle Management set-up, with a Manufacturing Execution System on the same platform to provide digital continuity and traceability across the value chain.
JSW Motors is building a greenfield manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra. It was established in 2024 as JSW Group’s entry into sustainable passenger mobility.
JSW Motors CEO Ranjan Nayak said: “We are building a technology-led future mobility ecosystem which is engineered in India. We have partnered with Dassault SystAmes to embed its digital platform across the vehicle lifecycle, from design to manufacturing at JSW Motors,”
Dassault SystAmes managing director for India Deepak NG added: “The Indian automotive industry is at a pivotal inflection point.
“Our 3DExperience platform will empower JSW Motors to manage the growing complexity of software-defined vehicles while enabling end-to-end integration across their entire value chain, from design and engineering to manufacturing and lifecycle management.”
“JSW Motors partners Dassault Systèmes to boost design and manufacturing” was originally created and published by Just Auto, a GlobalData owned brand.
