Megyn Kelly conceded that President Donald Trump is “not a moral man” this week, becoming yet another MAGA devotee to find herself at odds with the man she usually rallies for.
The former Fox News host attempted to offer a measured critique of Trump during a conversation with comedian Russell Brand, who has also backed the president, on her SiriusXM radio show on Wednesday.
“Many of us just like Trump. We like his personality,” Kelly explained. “But then, the other truth of it is, there are aspects of his personality which are obviously not good and that we’ve mostly just chosen to overlook. You know, he’s not a moral man, he’s obviously not the greatest husband in the world, and he’s extremely petty and thin-skinned.”
She also argued that Trump has been “turning on his most loyal supporters” because many of them don’t support on the Iran war, and has recently been “getting in bed with people who fucking hate him and have hated him from the beginning.”

“There’s no loyalty in return ever from Trump. Ever,” she said. “If you have a principled disagreement with something he does, you’re otherized, you’re the enemy, and at this particular moment, he’s alienating so many of his core supporters, biggest believers and boosters and running to people who have not been able to stand him for 10 years.”
As Kelly suggested, a number of Trump’s most prominent supporters have recently appeared to sour on the president as he’s forged ahead with the Iran war and publicly criticized Pope Leo XIV.
This week, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson expressed regret at having backed the president for the past decade.
“We’ll be tormented by it for a long time — I will be,” he said Monday. “And I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people.”
Far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, meanwhile, recently described Trump’s actions as those of “an unhinged super villain from a Marvel comic movie,” and even suggested “we 25th Amendment his ass.”
Kelly has famously shifted her stance on Trump before, of course ― and unlike Carlson, stopped short of taking back her support for the president altogether. Elsewhere in her chat with Brand, she praised Trump’s “endearing” and “charming” sense of humor and “unwillingness to stay down.”
“There’s still, in my view, a lot to like about Trump,” she said. “It’s just some of those darker demons are much more in the front view right now.”
