In summary:Google’s Remy testGoogle AI Ultra Lite

In summary:

  • Google is upgrading its Gemini AI into a comprehensive 24/7 personal assistant called ‘Remy’, currently being tested internally by employees for work and daily life tasks.
  • Tech Advisor reports that Google may introduce an ‘AI Ultra Lite’ tier priced between $20-250 monthly, making advanced AI features more accessible than current Ultra subscriptions.
  • The enhanced Gemini Agent will take actions on users’ behalf with deep Google services integration, though Google acknowledges it still makes mistakes.

Google is reportedly planning a major upgrade to its experimental Gemini Agent feature in the hopes of embedding it further into your life.

Back in November we reported on Google’s Gemini 3 AI model and a new (albeit experimental) feature called Gemini Agent, which accessed multiple Google services in order to handle complex multi-stage tasks.

Now the company appears to be taking this Gemini Agent feature to the next level. The latest Google app beta has just become available, and 9to5Google has spotted a number of mentions of Gemini Agent within it.

This new Gemini Agent will greet you with the phrase, “What can I get done for you today?”, and is described as “Your 24/7 digital partner”.

Google’s Remy test

That line seems to tie in with a recent report on Business Insider, which claims that Google employees have been testing a new staff-only AI agent that it calls “Remy”.

Remy is described as a “24/7 personal agent” (sound familiar?) that will help you with “work, school, and daily life”.

Google

It drives home the idea of Gemini as a true personal assistant that can get involved with everything in your day, and can even “take actions on your behalf” rather than being purely reactive to your prompts.

Remy is said to be “deeply integrated across Google”, enabling it to monitor your preferences and handle complex tasks.

It’s clearly not quite ready for prime time, however. In the aforementioned Google app beta, the company still provides disclaimers about it continuing to make mistakes, and dissuades users from relying on it for professional help in legal, medical, or financial matters.

Google AI Ultra Lite

In its current form, Gemini Agent is only available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US.

However, there’s evidence that the company is looking to make at least some of those advanced features more accessible through a new AI Ultra Lite tier.

Android Authority has spotted a mention of such a service within the MacOS Gemini app.

There’s no indication of how much this Ultra Lite tier would cost, but it’ll doubtless be somewhere between AI Pro’s $20 a month and AI Ultra’s eye-watering $250 per month – most likely closer to the latter.
