A SWAT team descended on a house late Friday near Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson-area neighborhood and detained a man and a woman, according to reports.
A man reportedly en route to the search scene was also detained during a traffic stop.
It was not known as of this writing whether the people are considered suspects in the alleged kidnapping of Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie.
But the Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the “law enforcement activity” was related to her case. She has not been seen since the night of January 31.

The department gave no further details. “Because this is a joint investigation, at the request of the FBI – no additional information is currently available,” a statement said.
NewsNation reported that officers at the late-night raid ordered the man and the woman out of the house and they complied. The home is located about 2 miles from Guthrie’s.
Fox News, citing an unnamed local law enforcement source, wrote that at least three people were detained at two sites. The source emphasized to the outlet that during a warrant execution “technically everyone is detained.”

More than a dozen vehicles converged on the neighborhood and roads were closed for hours, CNN reported.
The developments unfolded after a report saying DNA that is not Guthrie’s was found at her home, and investigators are trying to determine the source.

The investigation appeared to gain momentum earlier this week when photos emerged of a masked, armed man in gloves tampering with the door camera at Guthrie’s home.
Searchers reportedly found gloves in the surrounding area that may be tied to the case.
