President Donald Trump took a moment out of his speech Friday night to take a jab at his former MAGA buddy Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), or as he likes to call her, “Marjorie Traitor Brown.”
“And then you have ‘Marjorie Traitor Brown,’ I call her … because green turns to brown under stress,” Trump said to a rally crowd in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Greene has drawn backlash from the president in recent months over her criticism of the Trump administration’s handling of several key issues, including the release of Jeffrey Epstein’s case files and the recent government shutdown.
In an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Greene warned Republicans they may be headed for a disappointing outcome in the 2026 midterm elections and that Trump’s grip on the party is loosening.
“What the hell happened to her?” Trump asked the crowd in North Carolina. “She… must have been a stone cold liberal. She’s on CNN now all the time. Can you believe it?”
The president then claimed the falling out with Greene stemmed from his not returning her calls and the Georgia Republican being “neurotic.”
“I’ve got a family. I said, ‘Talk to my family too.’ You can’t call a president every single day and then when the president doesn’t call you back, she goes around saying, ‘He doesn’t call me back,’” Trump said.
“You know, you can only go so far — once a month, once every week or two weeks — but you can’t, you know, highly neurotic. Her, not me, but I’m neurotic too. I think I’m probably very neurotic too,” Trump said. “I always say controlled neuroses is good. Being neurotic, no good. But if it’s controlled, that’s OK. Gives you some energy.”
Trump’s dig against the ex-MAGA firebrand also comes ahead of Greene’s recently announced resignation from Congress. He claimed Greene “dropped out because I wasn’t going to endorse her, and the person I would have endorsed was going to kill her in the polls.”
“So she dropped out, and then they talk about how brave she is. No, brave would be to stay… it’s one of those things, but she dropped out,” Trump said. “I can’t believe that people can change so much, but you can’t go from being a strong conservative to a stone cold liberal, unless you were lying.”
