Journalist Ali Velshi warned this weekend that people should “resist the temptation to laugh” at footage showing President Donald Trump appearing to fall asleep during public events.
It may be tempting, Velshi admitted, because “there are so many alarming behaviors being normalized in the second era of Donald Trump and so few lighthearted moments in politics.”
But the clips are “not normal,” he cautioned.
The White House and Trump’s allies try to downplay the incidents and queries on the president’s health, and attack those who bring them up, he said.
But it’s “not political spin,” he concluded. “This is dangerous normalization.”
