Westminster shooting suspect flees to Arvada, police searching

Westminster shooting suspect flees to Arvada, police searching

Police are looking for a probably armed suspect who fled to Arvada after a capturing in Westminster, officers stated Sunday.

At 11:03 a.m. Sunday, Arvada police asked city residents within the space of West 63rd Avenue and Estes Road to stay inside whereas officers looked for a probably armed suspect.

Two hours later, at about 2:15 p.m., the Arvada and Westminster police departments confirmed in a tweet that the suspect is expounded to a capturing that occurred in Westminster earlier Sunday and warned residents to proceed sheltering in place.

This incident is expounded to a capturing earlier as we speak on the 9800 block of Westcliff Pkwy in Westminster. We imagine the suspect could also be in an residence on 62nd Ave between Estes and Dover. Nonetheless advising close by residents to shelter in place.

The capturing concerned two people who knew one another, the Westminster Police Division tweeted Sunday.

Arvada’s shelter-in-place remained energetic as of 4 p.m. Sunday, however Arvada officers stated they believed the suspect was in an residence on 62nd Avenue between Estes and Dover streets.

At 3:45 p.m. officers from each police departments have been on the scene with Jefferson County Sheriff’s Workplace’s SWAT crew.
