“And just like Trump, his fundraising emails keep getting weirder,” Colbert said.
In one message highlighted by Colbert, Trump asks: “Will I hear from you before Valentine’s Day?” and has a button for “Take Poll.”
“Just what everyone wants on Valentine’s Day,” Colbert said. “A 79-year-old man begging you to ‘take poll.’”
The message from Trump to a supporter named Chris also says: “I hope you STILL love me Chris. I didn’t think you’d leave me hanging this close to Valentine’s Day.”
“It’s kind of creepy,” Colbert said.
Another fundraising message from Trump read: “Tick tick TICK. That’s the sound of your Trump Membership on its last leg.”
“Why would your leg be ticking?” a perplexed Colbert asked.
He broke out his Trump impression for the answer.
“I’ve strapped a bomb to your thigh. If you ever want to see your shins again, ‘take poll.’” he said.
