The overhaul of the Colorado football roster will include a change at left tackle.

On Monday night, Jordan Seaton announced on Instagram that his time with the Buffaloes is coming to a close after two seasons.

Rated as the No. 1 offensive line recruit in the 2024 class coming out high school, Seaton started all 13 games as a true freshman that year and the first nine games this past season before a foot injury sidelined him.

Next season, the 6-foot-5, 330-pounder will be in a different uniform, and he’ll be highly coveted by programs around the country. Per 247Sports.com, Seaton is rated as the fourth-best player in the transfer portal and the No. 1-rated non-quarterback. He’s also currently the highest-rated non-committed transfer, as the top three – quarterbacks Sam Leavitt (LSU), Brendan Sorsby (Texas Tech) and Drew Mestemaker (Oklahoma State) – have all landed with new teams.

“I never imagined this journey would come to a close in this way, but I am deeply grateful for every moment that led me here,” Seaton wrote on Instagram. “From day one, my experience was filled with gratitude, love, and unwavering positivity. Colorado became more than just a program I was proud and honored to represent. It became a place I will always consider home.

“This chapter may be closing, but the impact of this experience and the people who helped shape it will stay with me for life.”

In 2024, Seaton led the CU offense in snaps played (860) in helping the Buffaloes to a 9-4 record and trip to the Alamo Bowl. He earned freshman All-American honors that season.

This past season, Seaton earned second-team All-Big 12 honors, despite missing three games. He had the best pass blocking grade among Big 12 tackles, per Pro Football Focus.

With Seaton’s departure, only 20 scholarship players from the 2025 season are still projected to be with the Buffs next season. That list, however, includes Larry Johnson III, who started eight games at right tackle, and Andre Roye Jr., who started twice at right tackle. Both could compete for the spot at left tackle.

CU could also get Phillip Houston back. He started 11 games at right tackle in 2024 before a knee injury that sidelined him for the entire 2025 season. He could get a medical redshirt and play one more season.

Seaton is the 30th scholarship player from this past season to put his name into the transfer portal, but CU has been busy filling the roster with 32 transfer additions, including four offensive linemen.

Earlier Monday, CU got a commitment from former Georgia tackle Bo Hughley, who started two games for the Bulldogs this season. Jayven Richardson played 10 games, with two starts, at left tackle for Missouri this season, logging 197 snaps overall. Another transfer, Taj White, has started 20 games for Rutgers, including 11 this past season at right tackle. He started nine games in 2024, including four at right tackle.

CU has also added Jose Soto, who started 11 games at right guard for Sacramento State this year.
