It seems safe to say there aren’t many fans of Vice President JD Vance in Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” audience.
A Politico report cited by Colbert found some are already “looking beyond Trump,” which caused the host to start daydreaming.
“Did he say a day beyond Trump?” he asked in disbelief. “I can see it!”
With a golden light falling on him, Colbert pictured an idyllic scene from a post-Trump world.
“I can breathe again,” he said as a field of flowers appeared on the screen. “There, beyond Trump, a new day dawns. And look! Here comes the sun!”
But inside that sun ― “Teletubbies” style ― was Vance.
“I’m JD Vance,” he said as the “Late Show” audience groaned and booed while Colbert doubled over and pretended to have the dry heaves.
