Eastbound Interstate 70 and Loveland Pass were closed for over an hour Friday night because of multiple crashes near Eisenhower Tunnel and adverse road conditions, state officials said.

Eastbound I-70 at Silverthorne and eastbound U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass reopened as of 7:45 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

State officials warned of “long delays” after closing the highway at 6 p.m.

A winter storm is expected to drop up to 8 inches of snow in the mountains tonight and early Saturday morning, according to a winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service.
