With the game on the line, the Colorado women’s basketball team cranked up its defense.
The Buffaloes shut down No. 20 Texas Tech in the fourth quarter and pulled off a 75-68 upset of the Red Raiders at the CU Events Center on Saturday night.
It is the third win against an Associated Press Top 25 team this season for the Buffs (20-8, 11-5 Big 12), who jumped into fourth place in the conference standings with the win.
The Buffs also secured a top-eight seed and first-round bye for the Big 12 Tournament.
Zyanna Walker scored 17 points to lead the Buffs, who outscored the Red Raiders 22-9 in the fourth quarter. CU trailed by as many as eight and closed the game on a 6-0 run in the last 62 seconds.
