Evergreen Walmart shooting tied to I-70 crash, closure

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Workplace has confirmed {that a} legislation enforcement capturing at a Walmart in Evergreen is linked to a crash that has shut down eastbound Interstate 70 at Lookout Mountain.

Based on the sheriff’s workplace, a Colorado State Patrol (CSP) trooper was concerned within the capturing on the Walmart, situated at 952 Swede Gulch Street. The suspect and trooper suffered minor accidents, however nobody was shot, in accordance with JCSO.

A police pursuit ensued after the capturing and led to a crash on I-70 close to milepost 254. CSP stated eastbound I-70 might be closed for an “prolonged” time period.

The investigation into the capturing and crash is ongoing. Denver7 has a crew on the Walmart and is working to be taught extra.
