A US antitrust regulator mentioned it was launching an inquiry Thursday into investments made by Microsoft, Google and Amazon into generative AI startups OpenAI and Anthropic.
“Our examine will make clear whether or not investments and partnerships pursued by dominant firms danger distorting innovation and undermining honest competitors,” mentioned Lina Khan, head of the Federal Commerce Fee (FTC), in an announcement.
