In summary:
- Tech Advisor reports Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses will launch in late 2026 for $379-$499, featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 processor and weighing approximately 50g.
- The smart glasses will run Google’s Android XR platform with Gemini assistant, offering a sleeker design than Ray-Ban Meta with directional speakers and 12Mp camera.
- A premium Haean model with micro-LED display is expected in 2027 for $600-$900, with potential teasers at July’s Samsung Unpacked event.
Details concerning Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Glasses have leaked online, revealing the possible price, design and some specs for the smart glasses.
The Samsung Galaxy Glasses will be the South Korean company’s second Android XR product, following the Samsung Galaxy XR (bottom picture). Now Android Headlines has published images of the new smart glasses, which are apparently based on real-life images of an early test unit.
They look a lot like the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) (pictured above), but could well be slimmer and lighter. With Google’s all-conquering Gemini assistant onboard, they should also be smarter.
These screen-free Samsung Galaxy Glasses apparently carry the code name Jinju, and will cost in the region of $379 to $499 (£280 to £370 converted) when they ship, likely later in 2026.

There’s also a second set of Samsung smart glasses in the works with a tentative 2027 launch window. Apparently, project Haean will involve a more premium set of specs with a built-in micro-LED display, making them sound similar to the Oppo Air Glass 3 we saw a couple of years ago.
These could cost in the region of $600 to $900, which would work out to between £445 and £670 (again, with currency conversion, which isn’t always the best measure of tech prices).
Both sets of Samsung glasses will run on Google’s Android XR platform, which should feature prominently at next month’s Google I/O event, alongside a potential new set of smart glasses from Google itself (in conjunction with fashion brands Warby Parker and Gentle Monster).
Samsung Galaxy Glasses likely specs
According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy Glasses will feature a 155mAh battery, a 12Mp Sony IMX681 camera, and will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 processor. It’ll weigh in the region of 50g, and will transmit audio using directional speakers, though bone conduction technology has been spotted in patent applications.
As for when exactly we might see this initial set of Samsung Galaxy Glasses, the report points out that the next Samsung Unpacked event is likely to take place in July.
While this event will be dedicated to Samsung’s new foldable phones, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, and Galaxy Z Flip 8, there could be room for a ‘just one more thing’ style teaser.
There’s precedent for this, with the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy XR headset both being surprise shown off at the Unpacked event back in January 2025.

Apple behind the curve again
Samsung and Google have a real chance to steal a march on Apple’s augmented reality plans here, judging from a piece of separate news.
Noted Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman claims that Apple’s own lightweight glasses – which could ultimately replace the iPhone, if all goes to plan – won’t launch until some time between 2028 and 2030.
This could give Samsung a two-year head start at the very least, should its late 2026 plans come to fruition.
