“Fuck. That!” actor and vehement Trump critic Robert De Niro mentioned in a brand new video selling the “No Kings” protests that a number of progressive teams are organizing in Washington, D.C., and throughout America on Oct. 18, and which GOP leaders have slammed as “Hate America” rallies.
De Niro, talking in a clip shared by the Indivisible Undertaking, drew parallels to America’s founding wrestle in opposition to monarchy by noting how “the unique ‘No Kings’ protest was 250 years in the past” when Individuals determined “they didn’t wish to dwell below the rule of King George III,” and “declared their independence and fought a bloody conflict for democracy.”
The Oscar winner continued: “We’ve had two and a half centuries of democracy since then. Usually difficult, typically messy, all the time important. And we fought in two world wars to protect it.”
“Now, we have now a would-be king who needs to take it away. King Donald I,” he added.
“Fuck. That!” mentioned De Niro.
“We’re rising up once more. This time, nonviolently elevating our voices to declare ‘no kings,’” he mentioned, concluding: “We’re all on this collectively, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
