CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Thursday addressed Donald Trump’s most recent attack on her.
Trump flipped out in a press briefing after Collins asked him about justice for the victims of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Trump had just suggested the country should move on from the controversy surrounding his onetime close associate.
The president called Collins “the worst reporter,” said her network should be “ashamed” of her, and claimed he had never seen her smile, adding she wasn’t smiling at that moment “because you know you’re not telling the truth.”
“The point of the question was what the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein are saying and the justice and accountability that they want to see,” Collins explained on her show, “The Source.”
“It’s nothing to smile about,” she pointedly added.
Collins then brought Epstein survivor Annie Farmer onto the show, who praised her for pressing Trump and his administration over the slow-walk release of documents on Epstein.
“I know I don’t just speak for myself when I say I really appreciate how persistent you were in questioning this administration about their failure with this release,” Farmer said.
“I don’t think it’s something to smile about, and I thought you handled it very appropriately,” she added. “I’m not surprised that Trump is ready to move on and that this DOJ is ready to move on — but we are certainly not, especially after we saw how poorly this last release of documents was handled.”
