Investigators were seen apparently searching the home of Annie Guthrie, the sister of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, over the weekend amid the disappearance of their mother, Nancy Guthrie.
“At Annie Guthrie’s home see what appears to be unmarked police vehicles at the scene,” Fox News Digital’s Sarah Rumpf-Whitten wrote late Saturday in sharing a video of the activity. “White flashes are visible coming from the garage, which appears to be investigators taking photographs.”
NewsNation later reported that law enforcement in unmarked vehicles spent several hours there, departing with gloves and brown bags.
Brian Entin, a NewsNation correspondent, also posted footage of the visit.
“This was the Pima County Sheriff’s Department,” Tucson police confirmed to JS via email on Monday.
JS has reached out to the sheriff’s department for comment.
As a Monday deadline issued by a possible kidnapper loomed, officers returned Sunday to the Tucson-area home of Nancy Guthrie, who is believed to have been abducted there between Saturday night, Jan. 31, and Sunday morning Feb. 1.
One of the agents’ targets appeared to be a manhole cover, perhaps to a septic tank. In video shot by a Fox News drone, a sheriff’s officer stuck a pole down the hole, although it was not revealed what they were searching for.
Savannah Guthrie and her siblings, Annie and Camron, on Saturday delivered another message to a potential kidnapper.
“We received your message, and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie said. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
