A 19-year-old driver was cited on suspicion of careless driving inflicting dying after police say he struck and killed a 12-year-old boy using a scooter in a crosswalk, Aurora officers mentioned Friday.
Christopher Ramirez-Rodriguez of Aurora was driving on East Iliff Avenue close to the Cherry Creek Spillway Path crossing the morning of July 19 when he ran a crimson pedestrian crossing mild whereas a boy on an electrical scooter was within the crosswalk, in keeping with the Aurora Police Division.
The boy was taken to the hospital and later died from his accidents.
Ramirez-Rodriguez remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police mentioned. Investigators don’t suspect medicine or alcohol have been concerned however are wanting into distracted driving as an element within the crash.
