Important 2026 Note: While Americans are eligible for 180 days, the final decision rests with the immigration officer at the border. 2. United Kingdom
The Welcome: Up to 6 months.

Once your first 90 days are nearly up, you can apply for an extension online through Migración Colombia. This gives us half a year to master salsa in Cali, work remotely from the eternal spring of Medellín, and explore the coffee farms of Salento.

The Welcome: Up to 183 days.
Why Stay Longer? Peru is a culinary and archaeological powerhouse. While many people rush through a four-day trek to Machu Picchu, a six-month stay allows us to settle into the Sacred Valley or explore the hidden beaches of the north. Like Mexico, the immigration officer determines the length of your stay at the border (between 30 and 183 days), so we suggest being clear about your intent to stay for the full duration to help secure the maximum stamp.
