Former Trump White House attorney Ty Cobb on Wednesday delivered a blistering assessment of Donald Trump.
“This is a man who is demented, and his narcissism has run amok,” Cobb told CNN’s Erin Burnett, after the president dedicated part of his address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, to once again repeat his baseless 2020 election conspiracy theory.
Trump “can’t get into a sentence without raising a grievance” and can’t resist making revenge-driven points or trying to “add glory to himself,” added Cobb, now a fierce critic of his former boss.
“I don’t think there’s anybody outside the boundaries of the United States who believes for a second that Trump is sane at this stage of the game,” Cobb continued. “And those in the United States are merely in denial or are so invested in him they can’t accept what their own eyes tell them.”
Cobb had raised similar concerns just a day earlier on MS NOW’s “The Beat With Ari Melber,” where he argued Trump’s rambling press conference marking one year back in the White House proved there’d been “a significant decline” in the president’s mental acuity.
“He’s always been driven by narcissism,” Cobb said. “But I think the dementia and the cognitive decline are palpable, as do many experts, including many physicians.” Melber noted that Trump has not been diagnosed with a cognitive disorder by a White House doctor or any other medical official.
