The latest launch from Ugreen is not particularly groundbreaking in terms of raw specifications, but it represents a more practical desktop charger for most people. With a 200W maximum output, the Zapix features 6 USB-C ports, with 3 capable of delivering up to 100W individually. Since most laptops are limited to 100W USB-C power delivery, you could realistically charge two laptops simultaneously with this unit, which covers the needs of the vast majority of users.

While this charger does not boast the impressive power output of some of my recent Ugreen reviews, the main selling point here is affordability. It has an RRP of £80 but is available for just £55 at the time of writing, making it one of the more accessible high-wattage desktop chargers on the market.

This model only has 6 ports (4 USB-C and 2 USB-A) compared to the Zapix’s 8 ports, but otherwise offers the same core specifications and sits at a similar price point around £80 at full price. Anker’s charger features a more premium-feeling build quality with a striped, textured silver casing, which some users may prefer aesthetically. However, the Zapix offers better value at its current discounted price and includes two additional ports.

It is worth noting that there are various options on Amazon from lesser-known brands that claim to have superior specifications at lower prices. Some products claim to offer 600W across all ports for under £40. I would strongly advise against purchasing these unbranded chargers. High-wattage charging equipment from unknown manufacturers poses potential safety risks, and the claimed specifications are often wildly exaggerated. Stick with established brands like Ugreen, Anker, or Belkin for peace of mind.

Overall

The Ugreen Zapix 200W 8-Port Charging Station is not the most exciting launch from Ugreen. There are no impressive class-leading features here, and you will not find any cutting-edge specifications that push the boundaries of what desktop chargers can do. What you get instead is a mid-range, well-specced desktop charger that does exactly what it promises at a reasonable price.

For most people, the Zapix represents a more sensible purchase than something like the £165 500W Ugreen Nexode charger. The only exception would be if you have a laptop that supports charging rates higher than 100W, which remains relatively rare outside of certain gaming laptops and high-performance workstations. For the typical user with a MacBook, Windows ultrabook, or Chromebook alongside smartphones and other small devices, the 200W total output and 100W per-port maximum of the Zapix is more than adequate.

The eight-port configuration is particularly appealing for households where multiple family members need to charge devices, or for desk setups where you want to consolidate all your charging needs into a single station. Being able to charge two laptops simultaneously at 100W and 85W whilst still having six additional ports for phones, tablets, earbuds, and smartwatches makes this a genuine all-in-one charging solution.

There are some minor criticisms. The lack of a power indicator LED might frustrate some users, and the plastic construction does not feel as premium as some metal-bodied competitors. The power renegotiation behaviour when connecting new devices, whilst standard for this type of charger, could be smoother.
