Former Trump White House attorney Ty Cobb condemned President Donald Trump Saturday for celebrating the death of former special prosecutor and FBI Director Robert Mueller, calling the president a “demented narcissist.”

“So that’s the type of person that President Trump is,” Cobb said on MS Now. “He’s a demented narcissist, [he] seriously hates anybody who stands in opposition to him.”

Mueller died on Friday at the age of 81. His cause of death was not immediately known, but he had reportedly been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease prior to his passing.

“With deep sadness, we are sharing the news that Bob passed away” on Friday night, his family said in a Saturday statement to the Associated Press. “His family asks that their privacy be respected.”

Mueller was appointed special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, and later faced wrath from Trump over his probe, which the president called a “witch hunt.”

On Saturday, Trump celebrated Mueller’s death by telling followers on Truth Social, “Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”

Cobb, who was saddened by Mueller’s passing, brutally slammed Trump’s post and defended his colleague’s legacy, telling MS Now anchor Erielle Reshef “his courage could never be questioned” and “his character should never be questioned.”

“What the President said today, of course, is petty, shameful, despicable and undignified,” Cobb said. “Sadly, that is the president we have, but fortunately, in American history, we’ve had people like Bob Mueller, and hopefully our better angels like Bob can get us beyond the fascism that we’re experiencing at this moment.”

He went on to take a shot at his former boss’s use of the Department of Justice, which he said was reworked “into a revenge machine” along with the “cowardly Republicans in Congress.”

“Rather than focusing on the despicable response of a demented president, we should really focus on the hero that we lost today, and ideally gain some inspiration and some strength that we can bring out on No Kings Day when we stand up again for our country,” Cobb concluded.
