The Minister of Transportation for Indonesia, Budi Karya Sumadi, has unveiled detailed plans for Bali’s Gentle Rail Transit (LRT) system.

The Bali LRT, which has been proposed for numerous years, is desperately wanted, in keeping with Budi Karya, to alleviate Bali’s site visitors congestion.

“Bali is a world tourism showcase, and there’s certainly persistent site visitors congestion that might backfire if we don’t deal with it,” Budi Karya stated in a press release on Sunday.


With a 51 % stake within the challenge, the Balinese Provincial Authorities is main the way in which, with the central authorities contributing the remaining 49 %. 

Part 1 of the Bali LRT, which is able to span 5.3 kilometers and join I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to Seminyak through Central Parkir Kuta, is presently being prioritized by the Bali provincial authorities.

It’s anticipated that Part 1 of the development will begin in 2024 and take three years to complete. After Part 1, Part 2 will see the road prolonged from Seminyak to Mengwitani.

Bali goals for a complete public transportation system as a long-term goal, incorporating the LRT challenge. This initiative seeks to scale back Bali’s dependence on personal vehicles and bikes, addressing the problems of site visitors congestion, air air pollution, and accidents on the island.
