Seth Meyers on Thursday mocked Donald Trump’s fixation with the $250 million ballroom that’s being constructed rather than the White Home’s East Wing, which was controversially torn down this week.
The president “brings it up each probability he will get,” stated the “Late Evening” host. “He loves all the things about it, even the noise.”
Meyers aired footage of Trump boasting about “constructing a world-class ballroom” to attendees at a White Home occasion, telling them: “You most likely hear the attractive sound of development to the again. You hear that sound? Oh, that’s music to my ears. I really like that sound. Different folks don’t prefer it. I like it.”
“That’s how you understand Donald Trump was by no means an actual New Yorker,” Meyers quipped. “Actual New Yorkers fucking hate the sound of development.”
Queens-born Trump “is the one New Yorker who’d raise up his window and yell, ‘Hey, hold that noise up! I really like the sound of development,’” the comic added. “The remainder of us hate it. I’d moderately hear my neighbor’s trumpet follow via the wall at 3 a.m.”
