In summary:Why we shouldn’t read into this

In summary:

  • Tech Advisor reports that early Samsung Galaxy S27 engineering samples with the Exynos 2700 processor have appeared on Geekbench, showing promising multi-core performance improvements over the Galaxy S26’s Exynos 2600.
  • The Exynos 2700 features a fully in-house Samsung-designed Xclipse 970 GPU, 12GB RAM, and reportedly offers 25% lower power consumption with improved cooling capabilities.
  • These preliminary benchmarks are from unoptimized samples and final specifications may change significantly before the Galaxy S27’s official release.

We may have received an early glimpse at the Samsung Galaxy S27’s processor, and the news probably isn’t as bad as it seems.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 only launched about a month ago, but we’re already hearing solid rumours about its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S27.

In the most recent news, as spotted by SamMobile, a Samsung engineering sample has been detected running in the wild. The device, with its model number of S5E9975, was spotted on the popular Geekbench benchmarking tool.

It would appear to be an early model of the Samsung Galaxy S27, which would make the chip it’s running it the Exynos 2700. Said chip seemingly uses an Xclipse 970 GPU, and is backed up by 12GB of RAM.

As for the level of performance it achieved here, we’re looking at a single-core CPU score of 2603 and a multi-core score of 10,350. That’s actually a little lower than the Samsung Galaxy S26 can manage with its Exynos 2600, especially in the single-core department, but an improvement over its 9392 multi-core result.

Why we shouldn’t read into this

Before any alarm bells start ringing, we probably shouldn’t bet getting too hung up on such early results. We’re the best part of a year out from a full launch of the Samsung Galaxy S27, which means that this model is likely to be a rough engineering sample running on extremely early firmware and drivers.

It’s not likely to be running in anything like a properly optimised condition for some time to come.

We could be looking at some significant advances with this next generation. According to reports, the Exynos 2700’s GPU has been developed completely in-house by Samsung, with no assistance from AMD.

Previous rumours have suggested that Samsung’s next chip could be an extremely cool customer, eschewing the line’s toasty reputation with a 25% power consumption reduction and a more advanced cooling system.

All of this is mere speculation when we’re so far out from launch, of course, and Samsung’s plans could change dramatically between now and early 2027. Let’s not forget that early reports pointed to a more advanced Samsung Galaxy S26 Pro model than we eventually received in the standard Samsung Galaxy S26.
