Firm details concerning the camera set-up of the Samsung Galaxy A37 have emerged online, suggesting a much needed upgrade.
Leaked software uncovered by SmartPrix seems to suggest that the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G could shake its mid-range offering up considerably.
It’s tipped to arrive with a new 50Mp 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX906 main camera sensor. That would be significantly larger than the Galaxy A36’s 50Mp 1/1.96-inch unit.
As a result, it’ll scoop in more light, making for superior detail and much improved low light shots.
Otherwise the Samsung Galaxy A37 camera system sounds fairly typical, with a 8Mp ultra-wide and a 5Mp macro camera, with a 12Mp selfie cam rounding out the package.

Samsung Galaxy A57 camera specs
It isn’t just the Samsung Galaxy A37 that will benefit from a camera upgrade. The closely related Samsung Galaxy A57 should also use that same 50Mp 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX906 main camera sensor, according to the report.
Interestingly, it’s claimed that some regions will get the similarly proportioned 50Mp ISOCELL GNJ sensor instead.
The main differentiator between the models could be a superior 13Mp ISOCELL S5K3L6 ultra-wide camera.
Either way, this isn’t the same level of upgrade as it is with the Samsung Galaxy A37. The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G had a very similar main sensor.
It looks, then, like the Samsung Galaxy A37 could be the mid-range model to look to in 2026. We’re expecting an official announcement some time in February or March, so we shouldn’t have too long to wait to find out.
