Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ditched the birthday cake in favor of something a little bloodier.
The HHS released an image of Kennedy, who turned 72 on Saturday, digging into a steak topped with birthday candles.
“No cake, just steak,” the agency posted on its official feed. “Happy Birthday @SecKennedy! We are so grateful for your leadership and determination to Make America Healthy Again.”
But critics were in no mood to send their well wishes.
He has also needled his boss, President Donald Trump, over his diet.
“The interesting thing about the president is that he eats really bad food,” Kennedy said, referring to Trump’s famous affinity for fast food and Diet Coke. “He has the constitution of a deity. I don’t know how he’s alive, but he is.”
In addition, he has made headlines for his alleged erotic poetry, sent to journalist Olivia Nuzzi during their reported affair.
Given all that ― and more ― Kennedy’s critics fired back on X:
