SINGAPORE—New U.S. export controls could compel artificial-intelligence large Nvidia to cancel billions of {dollars} in next-year orders for its superior chips to China, a transfer that might deprive Chinese language tech firms of essential AI sources.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based firm had already completed delivering orders of its superior AI chips to China for this 12 months, in line with individuals accustomed to the matter, and was pushing to ship some 2024 orders upfront earlier than the brand new guidelines had been scheduled to come back into impact in mid-November.
