Meta has eliminated a Fb web page used to trace the presence of immigration brokers on the request of the Division of Justice, the corporate confirmed on Tuesday.
Legal professional Common Pam Bondi mentioned in a publish on X that “following outreach” from the DOJ, Fb eliminated a “massive group web page” that was getting used to focus on ICE officers.
Meta mentioned in a press release that the group “was eliminated for violating our insurance policies towards coordinated hurt.”
Meta is the newest tech firm to limit instruments used to trace ICE brokers on its platform. Earlier this month, Apple and Google blocked downloads of telephone apps that flag sightings of U.S. immigration agents, simply hours after the Trump administration demanded that one significantly standard iPhone app be taken down.

Bondi has mentioned that such monitoring places Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in danger. However customers and builders of the apps say it’s their First Modification proper to seize what ICE is doing of their neighborhoods — and preserve that almost all customers flip to those platforms in an effort to guard their very own security as President Donald Trump steps up aggressive immigration enforcement throughout the nation.
Whereas a Fb group for ICE sightings in Chicago does seem to have been taken down, as of Tuesday night, dozens of different teams, some with 1000’s of members, remained seen on Fb.
