Marsh has named Nick Studer as president and CEO of Marsh Risk, succeeding Martin South.

The leadership changes take effect on 1 April.
Studer and South will remain on the company’s Executive Committee.
Both will report to John Doyle, president and CEO of Marsh.
Commenting on the appointments, Doyle said: “Our vision is to make Marsh the most impactful professional services firm in the world. These appointments will help us accelerate growth, increase our agility, unlock additional value for our clients and realise our vision.”

He has served on cross-industry organisations, including as a founding director of TheCityUK and a founding advisory board member of the FICC Markets Standards Board.
South rejoined Marsh in 2007 and led the business in several regions including Asia-Pacific, the UK and Ireland, Europe, and the US and Canada.
He became president and CEO of Marsh Risk in 2022. He first joined the company in 1985 with Bowring Marsh.
South also held leadership roles at Zurich Financial Services. He served on the Group Management Board, overseeing operations outside North America and Europe, and was CEO of Zurich’s London operations.
Marsh said it expects to announce a new CEO of Oliver Wyman and Marsh Management Consulting by 1 April.
Studer commented: “I am honoured to lead Marsh Risk and delighted to be carrying forward our mission to grow a paradigm-shifting risk advisor, all-connected risk intermediary and passionate advocate for our clients.”
