CHINLE, Ariz. (AP) — A medical transport airplane crashed and caught fireplace Tuesday on the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona, killing 4 folks, the tribe stated in an announcement.
The crash involving the CSI Aviation firm out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, occurred close to the airport in Chinle, about 200 miles (321 kilometers) northeast of Flagstaff. These on board had been medical personnel who had been on their approach to a hospital to pickup a affected person.
The Beechcraft 300 crashed within the early afternoon whereas touchdown on the airport, Federal Aviation Administration officers stated in an e-mail. The Nationwide Transportation Security Board and the FAA are investigating.
The tribe stated the reason for the crash is unknown.
Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren stated in a social media put up that he was heartbroken to be taught of the crash.
“These had been individuals who devoted their lives to saving others, and their loss is felt deeply throughout the Navajo Nation,” he stated.
