(Reuters) – The United Auto Employees (UAW) manufacturing staff at Ford’s Louisville meeting and Kentucky truck vegetation have voted in opposition to a proposed four-and-a-half yr contract, whereas the expert trades staff voted in favor of the deal, the union’s native unit stated on Fb.

The UAW Native 862 union stated that 55% of the manufacturing staff voted in opposition to ratifying the contract. Nonetheless, 69% of the expert trades staff forged votes in favor of the contract.

The union didn’t disclose the general share of the votes in favor of the deal, or the full variety of votes forged.

The union and Ford didn’t instantly reply to Reuters’ requests for remark

Union staff are voting on contracts from every of Chrysler-owner Stellantis, GM and Ford, after the primary coordinated strike in opposition to Detroit’s Massive Three automakers.

On Friday, UAW union members at Normal Motors’ Flint meeting plant in Michigan narrowly voted in opposition to the proposed contract with the U.S. automaker.
