Europe is a dream.
There’s just no place like it. In our own country, brimming with modern skyscrapers and small town charm slowly dissipating with popular chain takeovers, turning back the clock is just what the doctor ordered for a soulful reset.

Each destination in Europe is truly unique, whether it be town to town, city to city, or country to country.
Fellow experts at Kayak revealed one such city as Europe’s trendiest 2026 destination — and guess what?
With 43 countries under my belt, I’m claiming Czechia’s Medieval capital is prettier than Paris, boasting what has to be the most mesmerizing main square on the continent — far more eye-catching than a certain famous steel tower…
Here is why Prague, Czechia 🇨🇿 is Europe’s trendiest 2026 destination:
I Just Visited Prague — Pics Don’t Do It Justice

Thanks to Travel Off Path, my office can change at any time, and some of the most astounding settings imaginable.
I didn’t know a lot about Prague before my recent trip — just the usual “it’s so pretty”, “the Christmas markets are magical”, yadda yadda yadda….
Given my years of experience galavanting around the world, I have to take these comments with a grain of salt. In reality, many cities claiming to blow people’s minds simply don’t live up to the hype.
Prague is not one of them.
If Prague offered more flights to the States, it would hands-down become one of Americans’ favorite European getaways.

As I aimlessly wandered and gawked at timeless marvels speckled around the city, the dreaded “iPhone Storage Full” message popped up on my phone, and I had to ask myself, “why am I even trying?”
Pics aren’t going to do Prague’s Medieval grandeur such as Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and the Prague Castle justice no matter how many angles I try to capture.
Prague is truly one of the most magical urban masterpieces in Europe — a living museum, if you will. According to Kayak, people are beginning to catch on, seeing a whopping 180% increase in trip planning…
Prague Is Very Affordable & Surprisingly Delicious

Paris is far from old news, but why are Americans (and practically the whole world) obsessed with such a touristy, expensive city when places like Prague exist?
I wish I had an answer, but you’ll find me downing cheap beers and masterfully crafted “peasant food” over pricey croissants and two-sip coffees.
While Prague may not be considered a foodie city per se, Prague’s claim to fame has long been its cheap beer scene.
But I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised indulging in what’s considered to be peasant food.

For example, their “dumplings” are nothing like you find in Asia or Eastern Europe — they’re essentially leftover bread bits formed into dense slices that soak up every last drop of gravy or sauce.
My cholesterol may be up after visiting, but so is my spirit — win-win?
Another win is Prague is not expensive to visit. Kayak does report a bit pricey airfare averaging $695, but once you’re here you’re golden!
Depending on how long you stay, I highly recommend the city’s PID transit pass on what I found to be super easy to navigate transit system.

Hotels and Airbnb’s may surge slightly during the holidays given Prague’s world-renowned Christmas markets still ongoing, but you won’t break the bank.
Beer is often just a few bucks, and the same for coffee. Tours weren’t outrageous either. We decided to enjoy Venice vibes in a hidden pocket of the city many tourists overlook — definitely go with this Prague Venice tour running about $20 per ticket and includes a free beer!
Do Prague’s Christmas Markets Live Up To The Hype?
Prague far exceeded any expectation for Christmas markets, especially for a major capital of well over 1 million residents.

Old Town Square, anchored by gothic spires and the Church of Our Lady before Týn, is one of the most majestic settings I’ve ever visited.
Best of all, it wasn’t overly crowded. It was still fairly easy to find room to chow down on Old Prague Ham and your grilled wiener of choice.
It’s not rocket science to see why people flock here, and as Prague continues to become more popular as Kayak suggests, even more will surely discover Prague during the most magical time of year next winter as well.
Getting here –
Prague is becoming more connected by train from major European cities, but there will be 2 nonstop flights Americans can take in 2026 too:
- Delta – New York (JFK) – Prague (seasonal, summer route)
- American – Philadelphia (PHL) – Prague (daily, starting summer 2026)
