Driver killed in single-vehicle crash, closing I-70 near Copper Mountain

A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 on Monday, quickly closing the westbound lanes of the freeway close to the exits for Copper Mountain and Frisco.

In a press launch Monday night time, the Colorado State Patrol stated the crash occurred simply earlier than 4:45 p.m. close to milepost 198, west of Frisco. A black Lexus SUV touring east in heavy rain moved into the westbound lanes, rolled over and ejected its driver, in accordance the patrol.

The motive force was pronounced lifeless on the hospital. He was the one occupant within the car, stated Sgt. Ivan Alvarado of the state patrol.

One lane of eastbound I-70 was reopened by 6 p.m. Monday, Alvarado stated. The westbound lanes between mile markers 196 and 200 were closed and would seemingly stay closed till round 9 p.m. Monday night, Alvarado stated.
