A 47-year-old Colorado Springs snowboarder died at Breckenridge Resort on Tuesday following a “critical incident” on the mountain, in accordance with resort officers.
The person was taken to the resort’s Peak 8 first help room after ski patrol responded to a “snowboarder incident” on an intermediate path on Peak 7, Breckenridge officers stated in a press release Thursday.
The person was pronounced useless after receiving emergency care and analysis on the first help room.
The resort didn’t present additional details about the incident, however Summit County Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons told the Summit Daily the person died after crashing right into a tree.
In a separate incident on Tuesday, a father and daughter snowboarding at Keystone Resort have been injured in a hit-and-run crash with a ski biker.
