It was a pleasant coincidence when, on one of many hottest days of the 12 months, clouds briefly coated the Berlin sky, offering cooling shade for the company of Bobkova’s present. Kristina Bobkova’s ardour for gardening served as her essential supply of inspiration this season. For this Ukrainian designer, who designs and produces in Kiev, flowers are a beacon of hope. She was particularly interested in the mallow plant, which is an emblem of safety in her homeland.
Outsized tailoring and bias-cut attire shaped the idea of the gathering, in a symbiosis of the femininity and energy of the Bobkova wearer. Motifs by artist Polina Moroz made the subdued items extra fascinating, whereas muted and milky tones made the few vibrant colours shine. The one temper not felt regardless of all of the romance was melancholy. There has by no means been room for that in Bobkova’s backyard.
