Mike White’s sun-soaked satire The White Lotus is gearing up for its return—in a new location, and with a fresh cast, of course—news on the latter has just landed.
Back in November 2024, HBO CEO Casey Bloys revealed that when he was in Thailand during the production of the show’s third season, White pitched him his concept for a fourth installment. Bloys’s response, per Deadline? “If White wants to do a fourth season, HBO will do a fourth season.” The official renewal announcement came just over two months later.
Now, the first confirmed stars leading the show’s cast have been announced. Here’s that, and absolutely everything else we know so far about The White Lotus’s upcoming fourth season.
Who will be in the cast of The White Lotus Season 4?
As reported by Deadline, Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka have officially joined the cast. Ludwig, a Canadian actor who’s also a country musician, is known for his roles in the TV series Vikings and Earth Abides, as well as for playing Cato in The Hunger Games. AJ Michalka is best known as one half of pop group Aly & AJ with her older sister Aly, with acting credits including sitcom The Goldbergs, J.J. Abram’s movie Super 8, and the Netflix animated series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Their characters have not been announced yet.
Deadline also previously revealed that Helena Bonham Carter has been in early talks for a starring role, but that has yet to yield any concrete information from HBO or otherwise. She could certainly fill the Jennifer Coolidge-slash-Parker Posey-shaped hole in our hearts, though.
Bloys confirmed in November that casting for the show had begun, but the rest of the new and returning cast members have yet to be revealed. It seems a safe bet, however, that White will draw in a starry, largely new ensemble, as he has done every other time—but there are also a few major players who could return. These include two key survivors (spoiler alert): Jon Gries’s Greg, who we last saw sipping a drink in his mansion following the bloodshed of the Season 3 finale, and Natasha Rothwell’s newly rich Belinda, who may or may not now be opening her own spa. (And her hot son, Zion, as played by Nicholas Duvernay, too.) I, for one, would love to see where they wind up.
Where will The White Lotus Season 4 be set?
This, perhaps more than anything else, was the biggest question. After Maui, Sicily, and Koh Samui, would the fourth season take us to yet another ridiculously luxurious Four Seasons resort? And would we be transported to a new continent once again?
