A month later, over the weekend of June 23, they held a second wedding ceremony at Dorian’s household residence in Lincolnville, Maine. The couple labored with planner Molly O’Rourke, founding father of One & Supp, to craft a coastal New England affair with a downtown inventive edge. “Maine is our joyful place, and I needed to share that with our shut pals,” says Sandy. “The thought was to have it really feel like a large sleepover for a weekend, however dressed up.”
On Friday that they had a welcome get together on the seaside, the place friends ate lobster rolls and skipped rocks till the solar went down. The following day Sandy and Dorian held a cocktail and feast beneath a tent within the Cubicles’ yard.
The bride wore a robe of her personal design, referred to as the Ponyo costume. Made from silk taffeta—“if a princess have been a cloth, this is able to be it,” elaborates Sandy—the Ponyo featured elbow-length sleeves and a cape. She paired it with Mikimoto pearls and a dramatic veil, whereas Arneson adorned her lengthy raven hair with bows. “Considered one of my core inspirations will perpetually be Marie Antoinette by Sofia Coppola,” Sandy says. “I needed to channel that vitality into my wedding ceremony look. I’m used to all the time being behind the scenes, so it was a lot enjoyable to be the woman getting dressed up.” In lieu of a bouquet, she had a single allium with a black ribbon by florist Miguel Yatco. As she walked alongside a winding path of tall grass and wildflowers, coated with mist coming off the ocean, Dorian was ready in a go well with from Bhambi’s Customized Tailors. (Little did the couple know that Dorian’s father had been painstakingly mowing the garden for the previous month to create such an idyllic setting for the reception: “There was a number of care poured into the entire scenario. I beloved how we have been enclosed by all of the tall grass and also you needed to kind of wander into the tent,” she mentioned.)
Sandy enlisted the experience of a number of completed pals all through the night: James Beard Award–successful chef Danny Bowien, together with Portland-based chef Paolo Laboa, catered her dinner. Paolo’s son Simone baked the couple’s large white sheet cake, which sat upon a board crafted by her father-in-law. Centa, a Lisbon-based inventive studio that works with Loewe and Zara, made large ribbon centerpieces for the tables that sat alongside calla lilies tied to ivory candles and classic silverware the bride sourced herself. “I’m so fortunate to have so many proficient folks in my life who I roped into doing this entire factor with me,” she says.
Company dined on a connoisseur feast of lobster with burrata, fish steamed in parchment, grilled beef with charcoaled chili, and eggplant caponata as rain poured down round them. The mercurial climate, says Sandy, made an impeccably moody environment: “It felt cozy and dreamy—a really particular second for me.”
Sandy and Dorian say their predominant emotions about their two weddings is an easy one: joyful. “I used to be joyful to see my household joyful,” Sandy says. “Flushing was a number of enjoyable, and I beloved what we did in Maine. Being in that surroundings was very surreal.”
