A second person injured in a parking lot shooting in Denver’s Kennedy neighborhood, where a group had gathered to celebrate after the U.S. capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, died from his injuries, city officials said.
Jean Rodriguez Isturiz, 26, died in the early hours of Jan. 7, just over three days after he was shot in a parking lot near South Galena Street and East Hampden Avenue, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
Agency officials ruled his death a homicide from a gunshot wound, according to a case update posted online.
Isturiz was one of four people hit in the Jan. 3 shooting, the Denver Police Department said.
William Rodriguez Salas, 16, died after he was dropped off near Iliff Avenue and South Havana Street. Two other men were also injured in the shooting.
The case is still under investigation and no one has been arrested, Denver police officials said Friday.
